Updates

Things are still great for us here in Japan.

Grahams Birthday:

Graham celebrated his birthday this last week on September 18th. It was a great day! In the morning, he went for his run, and when he arrived home, Brooke was waiting for him, to give him a card/painting that she had made the day before. She ran up when he arrived home, saying take this Daddy, Happy Day :)

Graham then left for work, and I told Brooke that during our daily outing, her job was to help me find a cake for Dad's birthday. It was roughly 12:00 noon, and we were just headed home for lunch, and I almost forgot about the cake. As I was picking out our lunch, Brooke ran up to me and said " I FOUND IT". I looked over, and she was holding a Tiramisu cake, which is his favorite. She was happy she found it. I have told many people the story, and Brooke always has a big, proud smile on her face, when I tell the story. When they ate the cake at home, Graham had to be quick, as Brooke was right in there gobbling it down too :)

In the evening we had a babysitter come watch Brooke, as we went out for dinner with a few of Grahams coworkers. We went to a traditional Japanese Restaurant. We had our own little private area, and enjoyed beer and Tempura, mmm, it was great! Graham received a few cards, some beautiful chopsticks, and a hanging monkey as gifts, which was really nice. Oh, and a co-worker gave him $50.00 for drinks, WOW!!

All and all it was a great birthday, and I think Graham really enjoyed it.

Scottish Dancing:

I joined a group here in Tokyo, called the Scottish Dancers club. I have been researching a few groups, and this one sounded fun and was close to home, so I joined. I had a blast!!! It was 2 hours of learning Scottish dances and socializing. There were 10 ladies at the group, and 2 men :)

All the other participants were from Japan, but spoke English well, so it was easy to communicate. They meet up once a month, so I will be sure to go again. I wasn't very good, LOL, but they didn't mind, as the group is a mix of newbys and amateurs, nobody there was to serious about it.

Brooke and My weekly adventures:

This week, we again went to the reading bee's class, which was fun.

We also went to a mother and child coffee/lunch at the nearby school. It was great!! They had a little gymnastics area, so Brooke played on the balance beam and trampoline. Then she played with some other toys and kids. We stayed for lunch, it was a traditional Japanese soup, which we both really enjoyed. During the lunch there were some ladies there playing the piano and violin for us, we both really like that also. When we arrived home, Brooke was playing pretend, and playing the piano and violin. We told her that her Aunty Karen plays the violin also :)))

Then today, we went to Robot park, which is a small park, about a half hour walk from home. It is filled with slides and Robots. It was pretty neat.

The week ahead will be filled with festivals, museums and another baseball game next weekend :) So more to come then.

Love to you all, xoxo
